I find myself surrounded by many believers who are believing so many lies about their identity. To be completely honest, there are times I find myself in the same predicament.
Just a few weeks ago, I wrestled with the idea that God could have called me to do a certain task. I asked myself things like, “what if I’m not qualified enough?” and “what if I fail?”.
I was beginning to find myself listening to lies from the enemy.
One thing that is certain is that through my abilities, I am still not qualified. I learned that because the Holy Spirit live in me, I am more than qualified. Regarding the second question I contemplated on for a while; I came to the realization that it was all just fear. Fear, as you probably know, is not of God (2 Timothy 1:7).
If I had chosen to believe those lies, I would have missed out on what God has in store.
When we are not aware of who we truly are in Christ, it is easy to find ourselves believing satan’s lies.
I want to share some of the truth about who you are in Christ.
Once you accept Christ as your Lord and Savior, you become a member of the household of God (Ephesians 2:19).
You are deeply loved by God (Ephesians 2:4-5)
As a precious child of God, you have been redeemed and forgiven of your sins (Ephesians 1:7).
You have been set apart for His glory and are called to live a pure life (1 Peter 2:9, 1 Ths 4:7).
You have been given the Spirit of God which dwell in you. This Spirit is not of fear but is of power, of love, and of a sound mind (Romans 8:15, 2 Timothy 1:7).
Whenever thoughts that are contrary to these truths start creeping in, remember what the Word of God says about who you are in Christ.
